Rooms (Pool House):

We stayed at the Pool House, but you can also stay in their Boarding house, Ridge Rooms, and even their A-Frame Cabins.

The A-Frame Cabins have a communal bath house with privacy and heated floors.

Rooms onsite do not have TV’s in the rooms, but the hotel does have WI-FI.

Dog Friendly Property:

  • Dog friendly property/rooms include the Lake House and Tree House, Hill House, Pool House, and A-Frame.

  • Only service dogs are allowed in the dinning room.

  • For those with pet allergies - The Boarding House & Deck House are specially no dogs allowed, again to accommodate allergies.

Kid & Baby Friendly:

Yes! On our visit there were a lot of families with kids and babies.

The hotel can also provide pack and plays for the rooms too. I will say my room in the pool house had a shower; so for bath time I’m not sure if other rooms have tubs, but you should check with the hotel.

Saunas:

There’s a couple of outdoor saunas throughout the property.

Bring an extra towel, and I was told you need to read the direction inside the sauna and give them a bit of time to warm up.

Conover Club - Bar, Restaurant, and Dining:

Now let’s talk dining, onsite is their restaurant the Conover Club, where they serve brunch on weekend’s and dinner Thursday-Sunday.

We grabbed both brunch, and dinner and drinks here. Everything was so delicious.

Fitness Center + Outdoor Deck for Yoga Classes:

They have a fitness center with 2x Peloton bikes, 2x Treadmills, weights, yoga mats, and medicine balls.

Plus they offer free yoga classes on their outdoor deck on Saturdays.

Free Morning Coffee

In the mornings you can grab coffee in the lobby from 6am - 10am. They serve Partners coffee which is one of my favorite roasters.

Or get speciality coffees for purchase (cappuccinos, lattes, etc) at their Rise & Shine Coffee Shop.

Nightly S’Mores:

Every night from 6pm - 10pm you can enjoy s’mores by their fire pits.

They also have blankets too!

Rise & Shine Coffee Shop / Lobby Access:

The coffee shop and cafe has staff their 24/7 if you need to grab a snack, merchendise, games, water, and they sell over the counter drugs like pain relief Advil, Rolaids, etc.

Barn/Venue Space:

Venue Space:

Callicoon Hills gave us a tour and showed us around their barn & suites. Perfect for weddings, bridal parties, retreats, and corporate events. You can do a full buyout for events/weddings.

The small cabin (Creekside Cabin) next to the barn is a perfect spot for a bridal party to get ready and is the only place that has a TV. It sleeps 6, has 2 King Beds, 1 Sofa Bed, a Kitchen, TV, and 2 Baths.

Improvements:

Some things and details I thought could elevate the experience a bit more…because I just want to provide as much detail as possible.

Fitness Center: Would have love it had some small clean towels (to wipe sweat), sanitizer wipes to wipe off machines, and a water jug for your workout.

I will note that the lobby isn’t terribly far and does have refillable water sprouts and cups; again these are just slight details to add.

Restaurant: Brunch and dinner were both super busy and it did feel like they were a bit understaffed there. However, I do feel like this is an overall hospitality challenge these days and this was pre-summer “busy” season so not sure if they have plans on adding more summer staff.

Rooms: There’s no TV’s in the rooms. There is WiFi though. With my particular carrier I kept getting an “SOS” on my phone and couldn’t call or text out but could use the internet with the WiFi. But this could be my carrier or just the fact that you are away in the mountains.

Some other slight things, I wish the shower had ledge to put my own toiletries.

There was also a glass jar of water, it looked like it was sitting there for a while. Instead, there is glass jars with water taps in the lobby for both tap and sparking water.

Overall Final Thoughts:

This hotel is great for a weekend getaway or your special events too (anniversary, wedding, family vacation, staycation, etc).

Really enjoy that there’s so many amenities onsite; restaurant, bar, fitness center, yoga, games, coffee shop and free morning coffee, and nightly s’mores.

And I love that it is central to a few small towns in the area. It’s 15 minutes away from Livingston Manor and “downtown” Callicoon. About 10 minutes or less to Roscoe & Jeffersonville. And 25 minutes to Bethel / Bethel Woods Center for the Arts if you were going there for an event or concert.

It’s a perfect one stop shop in the Catskill Mountains to relax and recharge while having some fun too.

You also get stunning mountain views, it’s so peaceful here.

Bonus I also got to see the Northern Lights while I was here. It’s truly so beautiful in the Catskills.
