Iced Coffee Tasting Flight

You’ve probably heard of beer and wine tastings, but have you seen or heard of iced coffee tastings? There’s only a handful of restaurants and coffee shops that I know of that do them and they are in different states. I thought it would be fun to try this at home; to mix my love of coffee and charcuterie boards.

If you haven’t already seen my Mimosa Board or Brunch Board posts, check them out and let me know if you make them!

In this tasting flight I create the following flavors:

  • Mint Mocha (w/ homemade syrup)

  • Lavender Oat Milk Latte (w/ homemade syrup)

  • S’mores

For the end results I think the lavender oat milk and s’mores had a tie for my favorite flavor. To recreate your own, below is a list of items and variations of flavors to get you started.

What You’ll Need:

  • Large Slate Board - Got mine from Brooklyn Slate

  • Chalk Pens

  • 3 Glass Jars (Mason or Ball Jars, I opted to get 3x branded beer can glasses from my favorite coffee companies. Here’s something similar on Amazon.

  • 3x Types of Coffee

    • (Variety of options here. I went for buying 3 different coffee company ground beans, grinding them, brewing and then chilling in the fridge. You could also buy store brought iced coffee / cold brews. So many options to be creative here in your flight/tasting choices. At grocery stores some great options are Starbucks, RISE, La Colombe, Stok, Grady’s, etc.)

  • Milk Options (Whole Milk, Oat Milk, Almond Milk, etc.)

  • Syrups

    • (I made homemade Mint Chocolate syrup and Lavender Syrup here for this flight. Other great options: Caramel, Vanilla, Toasted Coconut, Raspberry, White Chocolate).

  • Garnishes:

    • For this tasting I went with Mint Chocolate Mocha, Lavender Oat Milk Iced Latte, and S’mores flavors. Think in terms of your flavors. For this I had to also get mint as a garnish, marshmallows and toast them (as a garnish), melt chocolate around the glass and added graham cracker crumbs to the s’mores one, and added lavender to put on top of the lavender oat milk. Think in terms of what might elevate the tasting… whipped cream, real herbs/fruit, etc.

You can shop all of my favorite items that I have on my coffee bar on our Amazon storefront, including items listed here. I’m so looking forward to hearing all your coffee tasting combinations and flavors.

Tell me what you made and what was your favorite flavor in the comments!
